Too many children start school without the words to express themselves, or the confidence, social skills, or emotional tools to join in. We use story, poetry, and drama to change that.
Your support helps us reach the children who might otherwise miss out, the ones who rarely hear stories, who are still finding ways to share their thoughts, and who need more chances to be seen, heard, and understood.

Your donation helps us
The Story Access Fund
Because every child deserves a rich diet of story and poetry, we created the Story Access Fund, to bring our programmes into early years settings, particularly those in underserved communities.
The Story Access Fund is powered by donations, grants, and 10% of every sale, and your support helps us reach even further. From subsidising access to Story Steps and Poetry Basket, to providing training and support, the fund removes cost as a barrier, making our programmes accessible to all.
Your donation helps us:
- Reach more children through story, poetry, and drama, building communication and language from the very start
- Offer subsidised training to early years practitioners in under-resourced areas
- Grow the Story Access Fund, so more settings can access our programmes, no matter their budget

How you can support our work
Make a donation to the Story Access Fund, or give the gift of a poem or a story to a school of your choice.
You’ll be taken to our secure CAF page, where you can choose to:
- Give the Gift of a Story
£45 to fund a year of The Story Basket, nurturing imagination and early language through engagement with audio-only stories - Give the Gift of a Poem
£60 to fund a year of The Poetry Basket, developing vital communication and language skills through the power of poetry
- Donate any amount

Want to nominate a school or early years setting to receive your gift?
After donating, just email us at info@helicopterstories.co.uk with as much information as you can, ideally the name of the school or setting, a web link if possible, and the name or email of someone we can contact there. If you haven’t got all the information, don’t worry. Send us what you know and we’ll do the rest.
