Bognor Regis Nursery School was established during the war and has been serving its local community since the 1940s.

Children are supported to thrive and develop through exciting experiences and opportunities offered in the rich learning environment both inside and in the garden. The Nursery School has high aspirations for the children and the relationships that are developed with them and their families is key.

The Nursery School has a Special Support Centre which is a fully integrated provision, providing places for children with Special Educational Needs. Our community has become more diverse in recent years and over 40% of our children have English as An Additional Language.

Bognor Regis Nursery School is always reflecting on, and developing practice to ensure that it’s the best for all children. It has an established Beach School which has been running since 2009 and all children are able to participate in Beach School visits while they attend the Nursery School. There are links with the care home next door and children regularly visit the residents to share experiences together. Currently the Nursery School is focussing on developing its ‘Loose Parts’ play. www.brns.org

Bognor Regis Nursery School has been using the Helicopter Story approach since originally being inspired at an INSET day run by Make Believe Arts in 2010. Helicopter Stories are regularly used across the Nursery School and the team are passionate about the benefits it brings in supporting all children’s learning and development. This child centred approach compliments the schools own philosophy and its aspirations to enable all children to fly. Bognor Regis Nursery School became a Centre of Excellence in 2018, and delivers regular full days training sessions.
